John Kilgannon (1956 - 2024)
John Kevin Kilgannon 10/05/1956 to 03/06/2024
John was a lifelong supporter of Scunthorpe United. He started watching them play, with Kevin Keegan in the side, while at John Leggott school.
John is survived by his wife Christine and two daughters Lauren and Sophie together with grandson Jack who continues the strong support for the Iron.
John worked as a council Environmental Health Officer which led to his move to Diss from Rotherham. He built his own house there and was heavily involved in the local community centre, including the installation of a wind turbine.
His move down south initiated his involvement with SULSESC and his regular attendance at games in the south east.
John will be remembered for his smile lighting up the room and his ability to chat to anyone including Millwall fans! To the bemusement of many he would end meetings with ‘Up the Iron’.
True to form John’s eulogy ended with UTI.
Sadly missed by all who knew him.
