DARTS NEWS - SEASON 1991/1992

But after ending the season with an 8-4 record, SULSESC had to be content with third place in the final table, behind the promoted two of Blackburn and Derby.

For the second year running, our cup hopes ended in the first round, beaten 9-4 at the Bricklayers by Glasgow Rangers.

Two players remained ever-present - John Birkett and Ian Young - whilst Martin Thorpe (49.7) and Chris Vaughan (48.2) were the top two in the averages.

Ian Young was in a class of his own when it came to finishing, however, ending the season as team leader with 17 check-outs from 13 appearances.

Unfortunately, no final league table is available. After a number of disputes were resolved by the APFSCIL committee, Derby and Blackburn were the two teams promoted at the end of the season. Scunthorpe finished third.
